IPTV setup in 3 to 5 minutes

Pick your device below, follow the numbered steps, and you're watching. Every walkthrough uses official app stores and standard, supported workflows — no jailbreaks, no rooting, nothing complicated.

Before You Start

What you need

Your activation email

Sent immediately after payment. Contains your Server URL, username and password (Xtream Codes) plus an M3U URL as an alternative.

A reasonable internet connection

10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for FHD, 50 Mbps for 4K. Wired ethernet is the most reliable — Wi-Fi works but varies with signal.

A supported device

Any of the 10 device categories below — Smart TV, Fire Stick, Apple TV, phones, computers, MAG box, or any IPTV player.

Smart TV — Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense

⏱ ~5 min Difficulty: Easy Quality: up to 4K HDR

Most TVs from 2018 onwards have a built-in app store. Install an IPTV player from that store and enter your credentials.

  1. Open your TV's app store

    On Samsung Tizen press the Home button → "Apps". On LG webOS press Home → "LG Content Store". On Sony Bravia open Google Play Store (it runs Android TV underneath).

  2. Search for an IPTV player

    Type IPTV in the search bar. Recommended apps: Smart IPTV, NET IPTV, IPTV Smarters Pro (LG & Sony), OTT Navigator.

  3. Install and open the app

    Note the unique MAC address the app shows on first launch — you'll need to send it to us for activation on some apps.

  4. Enter your Xtream Codes credentials

    Most apps let you sign in directly: Server URL, Username, Password — all in your activation email. Save and exit.

  5. Re-open the app

    Channels appear within seconds. The EPG (programme guide) can take 5-15 minutes to fully populate on first launch.

Pro tip

If your TV is older than 2018 and the right apps aren't in the store, plug in a Fire TV Stick or Android TV box — these are cheap (~€30) and unlock the full StreamLux experience.

Android TV / Google TV

⏱ ~3 min Difficulty: Easy Quality: up to 4K HDR

Works on Nvidia Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV, Sony Bravia, Hisense Vidaa and any Android-based TV box.

  1. Open the Play Store

    From the home screen, scroll to "Apps" → Google Play Store.

  2. Install your IPTV player

    The most polished option is TiviMate IPTV Player (best EPG, best remote support). Alternatives: IPTV Smarters Pro, OTT Navigator, Perfect Player.

  3. Launch the app and add a playlist

    Choose Xtream Codes as the playlist type (preferred — gives you the full library plus EPG).

  4. Enter your credentials

    Paste your Server URL, Username and Password from the activation email.

  5. Save and watch

    TiviMate downloads the channel list and EPG — usually under 30 seconds.

Amazon Fire TV Stick

⏱ ~5 min Difficulty: Easy Quality: up to 4K (4K Max model)

Fire TV Stick (any model), Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV Edition TVs. We use the official Downloader app — a workflow Amazon explicitly supports.

  1. Install the Downloader app

    From Fire TV home → Find → Search → type Downloader → install the orange-icon official app by AFTVnews.

  2. Enable apps from unknown sources

    Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options. Turn on Install unknown apps for Downloader. (On newer Fire TVs this menu lives under "About → Developer Options".)

  3. Install IPTV Smarters Pro

    Open Downloader. In the URL field, type the download URL from your activation email (we send the exact link). Click Go → install when prompted.

  4. Launch Smarters Pro

    Choose "Login with Xtream Codes API". Enter Server URL, Username, Password.

  5. Pin Smarters to Fire TV home

    Long-press the menu button on the remote while highlighting the app, then "Move to front". One-click access from now on.

Apple TV (4th gen and Apple TV 4K)

⏱ ~3 min Difficulty: Easy Quality: up to 4K HDR / Dolby Vision

The best remote experience of any IPTV setup. Requires tvOS 14 or newer (any Apple TV from 2015 onwards qualifies).

  1. Open the App Store on Apple TV

    From the home screen.

  2. Install an IPTV player

    Recommended: iPlayTV (paid, polished), Smarters Pro for Apple TV, GSE Smart IPTV.

  3. Add your playlist

    In the app's settings or "Add Playlist", choose Xtream Codes API or paste your M3U URL directly.

  4. Enter credentials and save

    Use the Apple TV remote keyboard or — much faster — type from your iPhone using the iOS keyboard prompt that appears.

  5. Start watching

    The Siri remote's swipe gestures work beautifully for channel surfing.

iPhone & iPad

⏱ ~3 min Difficulty: Easy Quality: FHD on phone, 4K on iPad Pro

iOS 13+ and iPadOS 13+. Background play, picture-in-picture and AirPlay to Apple TV all supported.

  1. Open the App Store

    Search for an IPTV player.

  2. Install your chosen app

    Top picks: IPTV Smarters Player, GSE Smart IPTV, iPlayTV, NetIP TV.

  3. Add a new playlist

    In-app, tap the + button → choose Xtream Codes API for the best experience (channels + VOD + EPG).

  4. Enter credentials and save

    Server URL, Username, Password from your activation email. Tap save.

  5. AirPlay to your Apple TV (optional)

    While watching, tap the AirPlay icon and choose your Apple TV. Picture continues on the TV; phone keeps the controls.

Android Phones & Tablets

Android 6 (Marshmallow) and newer. Chromecast and DLNA casting are built-in.

  1. Open the Play Store

    Search for an IPTV player.

  2. Install your player of choice

    Recommended: IPTV Smarters Pro, GSE Smart IPTV, OTT Navigator, TiviMate (best for tablets).

  3. Sign in with Xtream Codes

    Choose Xtream Codes API → enter Server URL, Username, Password.

  4. Save and watch

    The library loads in seconds. Use the cast icon (Chromecast logo) to send to your TV.

Windows PC

⏱ ~5 min Difficulty: Easy Quality: up to 4K

Two solid options: VLC (universal, no UI) or Smarters Pro for Windows (proper IPTV UI).

  1. Option A — VLC Media Player

    Download VLC from videolan.org. Install. Open VLC → Media → Open Network Stream → paste your M3U URL → Play.

  2. Option B — Smarters Pro for Windows

    Download from the Microsoft Store (search "IPTV Smarters Pro"). Launch → choose Xtream Codes → enter Server URL, Username, Password.

  3. Enable hardware acceleration for 4K

    In Smarters Pro: Settings → Player → Hardware Acceleration → On. In VLC: Tools → Preferences → Input/Codecs → Hardware-accelerated decoding → Automatic.

macOS

⏱ ~4 min Difficulty: Easy Quality: up to 4K HDR (Apple Silicon)

macOS 10.14 (Mojave) and newer. Intel and Apple Silicon both supported.

  1. Option A — iPlayTV (Mac App Store)

    Install from the Mac App Store. Launch → Add Playlist → Xtream Codes → enter credentials.

  2. Option B — VLC

    Install VLC from videolan.org. Open VLC → File → Open Network → paste your M3U URL → Open.

  3. AirPlay to Apple TV (optional)

    Click the AirPlay icon in the menu bar while playback is active to mirror to your Apple TV.

MAG Set-Top Box

⏱ ~2 min Difficulty: Very easy Quality: FHD–4K (model dependent)

Infomir MAG 254, 256, 322, 324, 420, 520, etc. The simplest setup of any device — designed exclusively for IPTV.

  1. Send us your MAC address

    On the box (back/bottom sticker) or in Settings → System Settings → About. Email or WhatsApp it to us so we can authorise it.

  2. Connect MAG to your TV and the internet

    HDMI cable to TV, ethernet cable to your router (recommended over Wi-Fi).

  3. Open Portal settings

    Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals.

  4. Enter the Portal URL

    Paste the URL from your activation email exactly as written. Case matters. Click OK.

  5. Restart the box

    Settings → Restart Portal — or unplug for 10 seconds. The portal loads with all channels.

Generic IPTV apps (M3U / Xtream Codes)

⏱ ~3 min Difficulty: Easy Works with any compliant player

If your device or favourite app isn't listed above, this universal workflow works for any IPTV player that accepts M3U URLs or Xtream Codes credentials.

  1. Open your IPTV player

    Smarters, TiviMate, GSE, OTT Navigator, Perfect Player, IPTV Smarters Lite, Tio TV, or any compliant alternative.

  2. Tap "Add Playlist" (or similar)

    Every player has this button — usually labelled "Add", "Add Playlist", "New User" or the + icon.

  3. Choose your connection method

    Xtream Codes API (preferred — separates Live, Movies, Series, includes EPG) or M3U URL (one URL, simpler).

  4. Enter the credentials from your activation email

    Server URL, Username, Password (for Xtream) — or the full M3U URL (one long URL). Save.

  5. Refresh and watch

    Most players auto-load on save. Otherwise hit refresh or pull-to-refresh.

Troubleshooting — common issues & fixes

Most problems fall into 3 buckets: credentials, internet, or app. Try the answer that matches your symptom — if none work, message support, we'll fix it in minutes.

The app says "invalid credentials". What now?

Almost always a copy-paste typo. Re-enter the server URL, username and password manually from your activation email — paying attention to lowercase l vs uppercase I, and 0 vs O. If the error persists after a careful re-type, contact support — your credentials may need refreshing.

Why is the stream buffering or freezing?

Buffering is almost always an internet issue, not a service issue. Run a speed test on your device — you need 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for FHD and 50 Mbps for 4K. Switch to a wired ethernet connection, close other heavy uploads/downloads on the network, and try a 5 GHz Wi-Fi band if you must use wireless.

Some channels won't load — what should I do?

Try a different stream variant if your app supports it (look for an HD / SD or FHD / HD toggle). Some channels are time-restricted by their licensors. If a channel is consistently broken, message support — we'll check the source and switch streams if needed.

The IPTV app crashes when I open it.

Clear the app's cache in your device settings, or uninstall and reinstall the app. On older devices, switch to a lighter player — Smarters Lite or VLC instead of TiviMate, for example.

The EPG (programme guide) is empty.

After a fresh activation, the EPG can take 10-15 minutes to populate. If it is still empty after 30 minutes, force-reload the playlist inside your app's settings.

My MAG box says "portal not loaded".

Double-check the portal URL letter by letter — it is case-sensitive. Then power-cycle the MAG (unplug for 10 seconds and plug back in). If still failing, your MAC address may not be authorised yet — contact support with your MAC.

Picture is HD but I paid for 4K.

Not every channel has a 4K source. Open the channel info inside your app — channels available in 4K are usually labelled 4K or UHD. Also confirm your device hardware and TV both support 4K, and your internet is at least 50 Mbps.

I can't find the recommended app in my country's store.

App availability varies by region. Try one of the alternative players listed above for your device — every device has several supported options. Contact support if none are available — we'll recommend a working alternative.
